Making a Difference Recognition Award

We are all aware of citizens, counselors, educators, essential workers and first responders who through their efforts make our organizations and communities exceptional and safer. The Threat Management Partners Awards Committee needs your help in nominating individuals for recognition. 

 

We ask that you share this award information and process with the leaders in your organization and communities. Encourage them to review the award guidelines and consider nominating a deserving organization, citizen, or officer for the Threat Management Partners' quarterly award. 

 

Summary

Awards are given for exceptional achievement in any endeavor that eliminates or decreases a security threat within your organizations or the community. Examples include but are not limited to: crime prevention, community policing, safety, drug control and prevention/ counseling, disease control/prevention, juvenile programs and training awards. 

 

Award Criteria 

The nominee may be a community member, counselors, educators, essential workers or first responders. An organization may submit for multiple candidates. 

 

Tell us... 

  • What actions were taken?

  • Who benefitted from the action? Community, organization, individual(s), etc? 

  • What is the significance of the individual's/team's action? 

  • What are the implications of the action(s)? 

  • For each action, the significance and implications are essential. 

 

Examples 

  • Bob/Bobbie educated 184 personnel on dock security providing in-depth experience that increased team knowledge and capabilities; reducing dock thefts by 50% last month.

  • Attention-to-detail! Bill/Billie removed 6 (six) contract employees from facility with violent crime convictions that were currently demonstrating hostile tendencies, thus improving facility and organizational safety.

  • Robert/Roberta designed a Motorcycle Operator course and delivered training to 103 citizens on 162 data points. Motorcycle fatalities decreased by 36% over the last quarter.

  • Sam/Sue led Sexual Assault Awareness course with 45 high school freshmen, strengthening awareness and preparedness against sexual assault.

  • David/Davi trained 90 officers how to recognize, investigate and assess sexual harassment and assault complaints. Resulted in increased efficiency in documenting reported incidents.

  • Brent/Betty attended a U.S. Homeland Security Summit that increased their awareness of threats. Returning to our organization they educated our personnel resulting in increased vigilance. As a result, two intruders were quickly detected and expelled.

  • Multiple points within each nomination are welcome. Success is in the details.

 

Award Timing

All nominations for the quarter should be submitted prior to the last day of the month: March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31.

 

Award Presentation

A time and location will be scheduled for presentation of the award.
